African Flower Large Crocheted Beach Bag

This crochet granny square tote bag features vibrant African flower motifs finished with a clever, no-stretch lining shortcut.

To help visualize how the layout comes together, I've included the flat assembly schematic I used. It takes exactly 34 squares total. Joined them all together with a single crochet and I stitched it right onto a white canvas tote bag that I got from a promotion. This lets the durable canvas straps bear all the weight and easily holds heavy beach day essentials like a water bottle, sunscreen, and a book.

I used Hobbii Friends 8/8 cotton yarn that I had in my stash but you can really use any worsted weight or DK yarn for this. Just be sure to use cotton as it will hold up better and won't stretch as much as other fibers.
