Day 7 Hula Hoop Crocheted Mandala

This crochet hula hoop mandala project marks day seven of adapting Helen Shrimpton’s Sacred Space Blanket design using sturdy Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton yarn.

It officially outgrew my usual photo spots today, so I had to lay it out flat on the hardwood floor just to get the shot. I’ve been making up the color choices row by row as I go, which usually leaves me with at least a few sections I regret. Not this time, though—I am absolutely loving how these light blue and navy rounds are turning out.

Amazon mostly sells digital counters and I don't love them. There isnt a replaceable battery so if I put down a WIP with its counter and don't pick it up in 3 months, I worry the counter is dead. In order to wake up the screen, you have to click the button but it is the same button that you click to add a row. I worry as soon as I push it to wake it up that I have also pushed it to add a row. The digital ones are much less expensive but I prefer these mechanical ones.
